Hand-crafted in terracotta, this medium plate features textural surfaces of pinched marks, smooth defined lines and blocks of color. The simple line-work showcases food in its presentation. The pairing of vibrant colors and soft earth tones creates a sense of vitality. Measures 9 3/4" x 8" x 2"


Didem Mert was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. She recieved her BFA (ceramics) from Northern Kentucky University in 2014. Mert has exhibited nationally in places such as Baltimore Clayworks in Baltimore, MD; Terra Incognito in Oak Park, IL; LUX Center for the Arts in Lincoln, NE; and Summerfair’s Emerging Artists Juried Exhibition 2013 in Cincinnati, OH. Her work has been showcased in Ceramics Monthly’s 2014 Undergraduate Showcase. Didem received full-in-state tuition scholarships from Northern Kentucky University for the years of 2010-2013 based on the work she created while attending the university. She was awarded a first prize grant through the Three Arts Foundation in 2014. Didem worked at Funke Fired Arts, one of the largest public ceramic studios in the country, in Cincinnati, OH for six years. Didem is currently attending Edinboro University’s MFA (ceramics) program and is expected to graduate in 2017.
