Ask a question about this product

This modern, geometric basket is made of reduction fired porcelain and covered with an opulent blue celadon glaze. Hexagonal dots are highlighted by areas of raw, exposed clay. It is finished in soft grey and vibrant red decals. Donnelly's work is inspired by both architectural and natural settings. This piece is part of a new series that derived from a trip to Jingdezhen China in 2012. While there, he explored alternative materials and modern firing processes that pushed his work into a new direction. The result is a combination of techniques that include; wheel throwing, slip-casting, hand-building, and 3-D modeling. This approach is a means to blur the concepts and associations to individuality and mass production, showing the potters “hand” and strengths. Measures 3 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 9".
