This porcelain teapot is divided by facets on the body, lid and spout. These lines interact with the surface design and flowing glazes. “Lines, dots, dashes, texture, and color are counterpoised to create structure, movement, and depth”. Measures 8 1/4" x 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".

Doug Peltzman grew up in suburban Long Island, New York. After several formative years studying painting, Peltzman came to earn his BFA in Ceramics at the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2005. From 2006-2008 he served as a ceramic technician and adjunct instructor at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. In 2010, he received his MFA degree from the Pennsylvania State University. Currently he and his wife Pam, a potter as well, are in the process of relocating back to their home state of New York with hopes of beginning a successful studio pottery business. The primary focus of Peltzman’s work is in creating high quality domestic objects that function to heighten and sensitize the experience of eating and drinking.
